Frequently Asked Questions

Q Do you require a minimum number of hours of service from your clients?
A NO
Q How much advance notice do we need to find someone?
A We can place a qualified caregiver the same day you call, but having two to three days notice is even better as we can be more selective. We have a 24 hour answering service which will contact an on-call case manager after business hours.
Q Is your company licensed, insured and bonded?
A YES. We are licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health and we are insured and bonded.
Q Do you accept long term care insurance?
A YES. We have worked with Penn Treaty, John Hancock, Mutual of Omaha, CNA, Genworth, Prudential, GE and Met Life, just to name a few. Clients will need to contact their insurance company first to ask what their policy requires from Homeward Bound in order to get approved. We will do everything we can to assist you through this process.
Q Is your company Medicare approved?
A NO. We are not Medicare approved, but we would be happy to refer you to several Medicare-approved agencies.
Q What is the difference between Homeward Bound and Almost Angels?
A Homeward Bound is licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health and bonded as a "Home Services Agency". Caregivers are bonded employees of the agency. Homeward Bound is responsible for paying the caregivers' taxes and social security, and provides all their caregivers with Workers Compensation insurance in case they get injured on the job. Homeward Bound caregivers are professionally monitored and supervised by a registered nurse.
Almost Angels is licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health and bonded as a "Home Services Placement Agency". And is also an Illinois licensed "Private Employment Agency". Caregivers are placed through a direct hiring method called a "Finder's Fee". Almost Angels' caregivers work professionally on their own and get paid directly from their client. A Finder's Fee is the least expensive home care plan we offer. After paying a Finder's Fee, our client will be protected by a caregiver replacement guarantee.
Q How do I start home care services?
A Call us today and a case manager will begin putting together your individualized plan of care. Within two to 24 hours you can start receiving compassionate and affordable care at home or in a facility. Give us a call, we’re always home!
